Cuddle Up

I just love this image. It's from Stampin Up. I've had it for years and years and never used it. Finally I was able to put it to good use!

As always, print paper is from my stash. Card stock, as always, is from Bazzill. My favorite of theirs is the Prisma line. It looks like lightly hammered card stock. Excellent for cards, just a bit of movement in it....great for when you want a change from smooth card stock. Border punch is Martha Stewart and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts (don't they just have the most gorgeous flowers?). I also purchase and use flowers from Prima. The heart I purchased off Ebay. It doesn't show well in this photograph but the white in the print card stock is embossed....it adds a lovely dimension to the card.

Well, that's about it for now. I'll post a couple more in a day or so. Tomorrow I'm helping our son move back to town (he's been away at college). It will be so nice to have him closer so we can see him more often than once every 4 months. And on Saturday hubbie and I will be completing a built-in china hutch for our dining room. I'm so excited as I've waited years for this hutch. Okay, off to make a few more cards (I only have 5 boxes of them so far....not nearly enough! lol). Nite everyone!

New Baby Boy

Hello ladies. Sorry about the long 'vacation'. I've been busy busy busy lately and it seems photographing my cards ended up bottom on the totem pole. I've been in the purge mode lately, clearing closets, drawers and anything else that stores STUFF. So now all that stuff is gone. And do I have any empty cupboards as a result? NO! How in the heck did I fit it all in there to begin with? lol Anyway, I've been working on cards but haven't, as I said, taken the time to take pics of any. So....here we are with pics galore. I'll only post a few of them however. Many are similar so it wouldn't do for me to load up the Internet with duplicates!

Now, this card. Background paper is from my never ending stash (although it's ending soon as I took most of it and put it in a box to sell at a craft sale). Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, coloring done with Copics and border punch is from Martha Stewart. Stamp is "Happy Family" from Stampavie.

Well, not much information is available on the contents of this card. Solid colored card stock is by Bazzill. Print paper is anonymous! lol No name was printed on the sheets. Flowers are from Wild Orchids and Michaels. Stamp is "Shoebag" by StampingBella. The dress on the inside is a Sizzix template. Edging under ribbon is made with a Martha Stewart punch. I just love the vibrant colors in this card!

Well, I'm finally home and all settled in from my trip...which by the way was excellent. I left single digit temperatures to bask in the warm sun of southern California for two weeks. Say ahhhhhh!!! Mum and Dad are doing well for their ages I think and Mum especially is not showing her age at all. She looks like she's still in her low 80's (she'll be 90 this summer). I'm trying to get back into the swing of things here, spending a little time each day in my craft room...and all I have to show for it is this one card! Sheesh! lol I did work on a couple wedding cards last night but they aren't ready yet. I need more flowers. Hopefully my Wild Orchid order will come in soon! Off on Holiday

No card today ladies. I'm just dropping in for a few to let you all know I'll be on holiday in southern California for the next two weeks visiting my parents. They are close to 90 now but still doing well. I try to make this trip twice a year to see them. So, needless to say, there will be no cards coming from this direction for a while. And when I get back, I have some shopping to do to replenish my stock! Oh gosh darn...more shopping?? lol lol So have a wonderful time crafting while I'm gone. I'm jealous as I'll miss making my own cards. I'll be watching blogs so I hope to see lots of lovely new creations! Take care....xo Coleen

Again, as below, ingredients are pretty much the same. Image is a stamp from Lily of the Valley (they have such lovely stamps!). Flowers are from Michaels and Wild Orchids. The tea pot is from Madame Delphine's (no website available)...purchased at Michaels. Scroll work on right side is from Sizzix. It's coloured with Prismacolor Pencils.

I just love the colours in this card...so bright. Background paper is from gcd studios (Tinted Flowers). Lace doilies were purchased in the wedding department at Walmart of all places! All the other ingredients are the same as following cards.

Good Morning Ladies! Hope this day finds you all well and happy. It's snowing outside (again!) so it's a perfect day to get these last cards loaded into cyberspace. Then on to cleaning my craft room a bit. How can we possible think of spending a day cleaning when we have so many cards to make? lol

Anyhow, here's the ingredients. Digital Image from (I can't read the author) one of the daily freebies. Card stock from Bazzill, background card stock by Core'dinations. The scalloped oval paper is a lovely gift from Christine L, my dear friend in West Yorkshire, England. Large pearl on bow is from Recollections. Flowers are from Recollections and Wild Orchids. Lace is from the fabric department of a local fabric/craft store (Joann's). Nothing new, nothing fancy, just one of several that I recently did and though I'd share.

Another from my little stack of cards I'm building here. Stamp is from a card making program on my computer and colored (what there is of it) with copics. Background print card stock is by Basic Grey and solid is from Bazzill. Flowers are from Wild Orchids. I put Glossy Accents by Inkssentials on the goblets to give it the look of real glass. And if you can see it, there is a 'vine' on top of the lace trim. That's a Martha Stewart punch.

Hubbie's been working out of state, coming home on weekends. He was able to come in one night early this week :)

Good Morning Ladies! I hope it's nice and sunny where you live today. We just missed being hit by yet another huge snow storm. I don't think white is my favourite colour. lol

I just noticed that I've used this image before. I must like it! Anyway, here we go with ingredients! Digital Image...creator unknown. Before I knew it was proper to save the creator's name I was saving all my digi's as they were. Now I know better! All cardstock is by Bazzil, patterned paper is by Inspirables, both purchased at either Joann's or Michael's (I hear Christine L in England saying "I've been there!!!"). Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima. I used Glossy Accents on her veil and a bit of Sticklets glitter on her 'crown'. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch with a layer of Stickles on it. The yellow 'lace' border is from a MS punch. Image coloured with copics.

So glad to see all you new followers. What a pleasant surprise for me! I had no idea when Christine L talked me into doing this blog where it would go. This is fun! So many talented ladies out there.

I'm sitting here looking at my card thinking I'm not totally happy with the Groom's jacket. I think I'll go tweak it a bit!

Well, it's another cold day here. The low tomorrow is supposed to get down to -10 degrees. Brrrr!! Let me start by saying good moring to Christine and Christine, both in the UK. lol Sounds like some kind of fancy retail store! Abercrombie and Fitch, Christine and Christine!

Thank you to Christine (#2) for the lovely comment you recently left. I enjoy making these cards, but it's extra nice when somebody else appreciates your efforts, especially a fellow crafter. You asked me where I got my doilies. From Walmart in the wedding department (all of a 6' area). I went there the other day but they were all out, so I'll have to keep looking for more of them :( So again, my thanks to both Christines for your most welcome comments. Hugs and happy crafting!!

New on the blog today is "Pink Wedding". The image is from a digital stamp, creator unknown. The couple is colored with Copics. Manufacturer of print paper unknown. Solid cardstock is by Bazzill. Flowers are from Recollections and butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch with a bit of Stickles glitter glue on it. A tiny bit more of the glitter glue on her crown and some Glossy Accents by Inkssentials on her veil and this card is ready to be given to a deserving couple.

Hello Christine. lol I can say that since nobody else will see this blog. Kinda cool. Anyway, I was busy last night as you can see. I won't put all the ingredients down as most parts on each card are the same supplier. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Must save $$ for more copics. Not too many, 20 or so should do it. hmmm, 20 or so this month I should be saying! hehe!! I'm being good restraining myself. Awwwww....Dont' be Shy!

Ahhh, I"m finally getting a chance to sit down and just type with no interruptions! I just love these stamps by Sarah Kay. Especially this one "First Kiss". I've inked it onto Cryogen White layered on to a deep seafoam green/turquoise. All prints are by K and Company. The black cardstock is by Bazzill. Coloring is by Copics! The floral border on the left is made using a Martha Stewart punch. Top it off with some Roses and Cherry Blossoms by Recollections, the large flower by Prima, a couple of self-stick gems by Darice, a bit of ribbon and a pearl like stick-on (Studs by Prima) and these two are ready to shake up the town a bit! ;) Then again, maybe not!

Welcome Little One

Let's see...where to start. I used my Copic Markers to color the digital image (maker unknown). Sure do love those copics. The cardstock is by Bazzill and the blue plaid paper is by Paper Pizazz. The Blue/Yellow print paper is by Disney, manufactured and distributed by EK Success Ltd., and the white cardstock is Cryogen White by Paper Temptress. The white lace was purchased at Joann's, the yellow on top of that was purchased on a trip to England several years ago. The ribbon/bow is from May Arts. So now I finally have one card done (after several days of pondering what to do with the floral print). Now I also have a big mess in my craft room. Alas, it's time to clean AGAIN! My biggest problem is I get so many ideas and try to do them all at the same time so I don't forget what I wanted to do. Then I have a huge mess and a dozen or so cards half done!! lol Well, if that's the least of my problems in life then I'm doing pretty well. So get your ideas together, sit down at your craft table and have a go at whatever comes to mind. It's so therapeudic. TaTa for now. ps I'll get new pics on the blog tomorrow. Seems the shade made them darker at the bottom :(

Christmas is coming

Well, Christmas will be here before we know it. Soon we'll all be lounging around with full tummy's and mounds of candy and cookies waiting to be eaten. I've not done much this past week as my creative side took a short vacation. I received a large order from Sizzix today so obviously I can't wait to give them a try. I'm also waiting on another order of copics. Gosh, I'm hopeless with them. But I think one more order after this and I should have everything I need. For now! lol

Hopefully in the next few days I can find some time to craft, in between errands and cleaning!! I think I need to get my priorities straight, craft first, clean later!!! OK, I'm off for now. Have a great week.

Pretty Young Girl

Here's another easy one. I colored this "Flower Girl" digital stamp (author unknown) with my new copics. LOVE THEM!!!!

She's layered on to several 'sets' of cardstock. The middle has been run thru one of my Fiskars crimpers. The bottom one was done with a Sizzix "Burlap" Embossing Folder. I know it's not spring yet, but I find I'm drawing to the yummy colors of sherbert. Now that Christmas is almost here there won't be as big a need for 'winter' cards. Besides, these are great pictures for me to practice my shading on. I still need to work on that scanner. Her color looks quite pale here but I assure you, on the card, it looks good (I followed the tutorial by Suzanne Dean and used the correct three copics).

Hope you are having a nice warm day wherever you are! It was 7 degrees F. when I woke yesterday morning, today it was 26. Enough to confuse anyone! It's supposed to cool back down tomorrow. 26 isn't cool enough? Well, I'm sitting here at my computer with one of my cats lying between me and the keyboard, so I'm sure there are at least one or two typos in this. They'll get fixed eventually! This one might be an easy card to make, but the tools that were used to create it are all new to me. I've been out of stamping/card making for a few years and am finding all kinds of new 'toys' on the market. New to me at least!!

So, I used my Nestabilities to make the center two squares. These are layered on to black hammered cardstock. This is placed on a shiny Bazzill cardstock that has been run thru the Sizzix Embossing Template. The flower is courtesy of Spellbinders Shapeabilities using shiny Bazzill cardstock. All is put together and layered on to more black cardstock. I love to use two colors on cards, especially when one of them is black. As I work with my new found friends I'm sure I'll be creating some real masterpieces!! Hmmm, best get crafting!

Snowflakes and Mittens

I used a Snowflake and Mitten patterned paper that I purchased several years ago and layered on to shiny Bazzill card stock then again layered on to a soft blue card stock. Then I used one of my Fiskars edgers to make the "lace" and topped it with a blue velvet tie. On top of that went another double bow and finally my Sizzix snowflake.

Christmas Wreath

This was pretty easy too. The wreath is a free digital from Creative mind of Sylvia. I used snowflake backdrop paper (with glittered snowflakes) with a coordinating strip across the bottom held together with four tan square brads. The wreath square was stippled with Burgundy and a touch of brown. Glitter "berries" were placed around the wreath. The stamp is copyrighted to Danelle Johnson. Top off with a sheer burgundy bow and it's ready to be mailed.

Jingle Bells

Again, colored with my Prisma pencils and Gamsol. Then I used a bit of sparkly glitter and he was done. I wanted to keep his colors as muted as possible. Oops, I just noticed that I forgot to color his arms!!! YIKES! Best fix that post haste.

Bridal Shower

I really enjoyed putting this card together. I got the free digi a couple weeks ago, (can't remember who from....sorry), and colored it with my Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol. I used one of my Fiskars edgers and double edged a narrow piece of cardstock. Finish with some white satin ribbon and it's good to go. The rest is easy to figure out! I have to work on my scanner. The color of the flowers is pale blue. I know, not the norm, but I thought what the heck...live on the edge!!

Santa

I really love this Santa. I colored him with my Prisma pencils and added a bit of glitter to his beard. Simple edging by a Fiskars edger, red Bazzil cardstock and snowflake print (unknown manufacturer).
